Newfoundland and Labrador-based biotechnology company Sequence Bio is pleased to announce that Chris Leather, Ph.D has joined its team as Vice President, Technology and Security. 

Leather joins Sequence Bio from the leadership team at Verafin, where he was responsible for supporting cloud services and security for some of the largest banks in North America. In five years as Director of Cloud and Security, he also played an important role in scaling the team and company to its $2.7 billion USD dollar acquisition by Nasdaq in 2021. 

With nearly 25 years of experience, Leather will lead Sequence Bio’s technology and application development teams, as well as the continual advancement of the security infrastructure that is essential to protecting the privacy of research participants and collaborating with global drug development partners.
