Sequence Bio posters selected for ASHG 2020, the world's largest human genetics and genomics meeting

October 26, 2020

Sequence Bio, a biotechnology company researching the founder effect in Newfoundland and Labrador to accelerate novel drug target discovery, is pleased to announce that it has been selected to present four ePosters at ASHG 2020, the largest human genetics and genomics meeting and exposition in the world.

In their posters, members of Sequence Bio’s Research team will share insights from the company’s flagship genetic research study in Newfoundland and Labrador, the NL Genome Project. This includes an overview of Sequence Bio’s genetic characterization efforts, the technology and mechanisms developed to enable the return of research-grade genetic findings reports to study participants, and more:

  • The Newfoundland and Labrador Genome Project (NLGP): Characterization of a Unique Founder Population Comprised of a Mosaic of Independent Genomic Clusters, prepared by Dr. Michael S. Phillips, Chief Scientific Officer at Sequence Bio

  • The Newfoundland and Labrador Genome Project: Working with GPs to Return Medically Actionable Findings, prepared by Fanny Coron, Genetic Counsellor at Sequence Bio

  • Development of a Large Scale Genomic Data Processing Pipeline using an Apache Spark Framework, prepared by S. Sadra Mirhendi, Data Scientist at Sequence Bio

  • Characterization of Y Chromosome Diversity in the Newfoundland Founder Population, prepared by Heather Zurel, Junior Bioinformatician at Sequence Bio

Links to Sequence Bio’s ePosters will be available to conference attendees via ASHG’s virtual conference platform.
